A SMALL PLACE FOR WORDPLAY

About PoopleGame.fun

A friendly, independent word-ladder playground, built around one small change at a time.

A familiar idea, a fresh little space

A word ladder connects two words by changing one letter at a time. Every step has to be an accepted word. Here, most paths lead to POOP: a small, silly destination for a satisfying puzzle.

What you can try

Play a sample puzzle, practice with a new starting word, reveal hints at your own pace, or connect two four-letter words with the solver. Your progress stays in this browser.

About this site

The puzzles use a versioned word list with a separate practice selection. Our solver finds shortest routes within that list. The answer page shows a separately verified daily route. Practice games use our own dictionary and do not reproduce the complete official word list.

Word-list sources and solution checks

Current dictionary: scowl-2020.12.07-practice-84c372d0e87a, containing 2,347 accepted words. The practice selection contains 1,500 starting words. It is maintained separately from the accepted list.

Source: SCOWL 2020.12.07, English/American lower-case word lists through level 60 ↗. The displayed list is a modified selection, not the complete source dictionary. Read the included license and copyright notices.

We use lower-case English and American word lists, select four-letter entries, and apply a project exclusion policy. Names, abbreviations, sensitive entries and other unsuitable practice terms are excluded. The familiar-word option uses a separate project-reviewed subset. It is a practical selection, not a measured frequency ranking.

The same dictionary powers the game, hints, worked examples and route checker. Every practice start has a verified connection to POOP. A breadth-first search computes the minimum move count; each displayed solution is checked for accepted words and exactly one changed letter at every step.

Our practice selection and content exclusions can differ from other games. This is not the official accepted-word list from poople.io. A shortest route is always relative to its dictionary version.

What this project helps you do

PoopleGame.fun brings four related tasks into one small word-ladder site. The main game lets you build a route one word at a time. Unlimited gives you another practice start without a daily wait. The answer page reveals a dated daily route or a selected practice solution gradually. The solver connects words you choose and checks routes you have already tried. Each page serves a different moment in a player's session.

You might play a round without help, ask for one position hint when stuck, and inspect the completed route afterward. Another player may come only to check a disputed step. Both uses should make sense without an account. The explanations below each tool describe its current scope so you do not have to infer what it does from a name or a search snippet.

The common rule is simple: keep four positions, change exactly one letter per step, and use accepted words. The useful work is in the connections. A goal such as POOP can be reached through several routes, and a route that takes more than the minimum can still be valid. The site separates these ideas instead of treating every extra move as an invalid answer.

For the original daily challenge and its own rules, use poople.io ↗. This project does not run that service, manage its players or issue its official results.

How a practice puzzle becomes usable

A practice entry needs more than a starting word. The start and target must be accepted by the same list; a complete route must exist; every adjacent pair must change one position; and the stated minimum must agree with the search result. The examples and the game use the same deployed dictionary so the explanation can be checked with the tool a player is actually using.

The practice starts are a selection from the accepted vocabulary. A word can therefore be available as a bridge without appearing in the practice picker. Increasing the vocabulary does not automatically add a separate web page, and increasing the practice pool does not mean that every possible pair of endpoints has been tested or published.

Familiar bridges are maintained as a second selection. They can help when a minimum-length route uses an obscure word, but restricting choices changes the search. The result can be longer, or there may be no route under that restriction. The solver labels that result rather than presenting it as the minimum over the full dictionary.

Source licensing and answer correctness are separate checks. A reusable word list supplies vocabulary under its own conditions; it does not prove that every route is correct. Conversely, a valid route does not make an unrelated site's copied explanation or illustration ours to reuse. The included notices describe the word-list source, while this site's interface, examples and explanations are maintained for this project.

How to read claims about answers

When this site calls a route shortest, the claim is tied to a particular accepted-word list and search mode. It does not describe every possible English word or every other word game. A dictionary change can introduce a shortcut; a filter can remove one. The version shown with the method helps identify the context of a result.

A content review date identifies when the explanation and examples were checked. It does not identify an official daily puzzle, prove that a live source was fetched, or turn a practice sample into today's answer. Daily synchronization is a separate capability. A page must display its actual status even when a visitor arrives after searching for a current answer.

A solver result, a practice hint and an official game's accepted move can disagree because their vocabulary differs. If a bridge works here but another game rejects it, that game's rule decides what you can enter there. The discrepancy is useful feedback, but it is not enough by itself to claim that either site's search has found a wrong route.

The answer checking guide separates endpoint, vocabulary, adjacent-move and distance checks. The familiar-word explanation shows how the optional filter affects a result. These details make a claim easier to inspect than an unexplained answer string.

Improvements and corrections

Useful feedback identifies a reproducible problem. For a word issue, send the start, target, attempted bridge and the exact rejection message. For a route issue, include all words in order and whether the familiar setting was enabled. For a layout issue, name the page and the control that was covered or difficult to use. Screenshots can help after personal information is removed.

Suggestions are considered against the site's current scope. Supporting a new word length requires an appropriate word list and fresh validation; adding a language requires more than translating labels; publishing daily answers requires reliable puzzle identity and timing. A request does not mean that a feature or vocabulary entry has already been added.

Existing working explanations should remain consistent with the deployed game. When a report shows a mismatch, the affected content and behavior need to be checked together. A corrected description should not promise an unimplemented feature, and a code change should not leave an old example claiming a different result.

Use Contact and feedback to explain the issue. Read the privacy notice before sending personal details, or return to the game if you simply want to try another route. A concise, specific report is more useful than a copy of your entire browsing session.
