Latest verified Poople answer: #443

Puzzle #443 · FUSE → POOP · 6 moves · Source date · Checked · Status: verified · Word list: project practice dictionary

Answer: FUSE → POOP · hidden until you reveal it

Checked at against poople.io ↗. The date follows the source schedule viewed in UTC; your local calendar date can differ. Compare the puzzle number and starting word before using this route.

Reveal the full verified answer

FUSE → RUSE → ROSE → POSE → POME → POMP → POOP

We independently verify every one-letter change and the source minimum. The official source route includes 1 word(s) outside our licensed practice dictionary (POME); we publish that route with this disclosure. Practice and Solver still use our licensed word list and may produce a different route.

How this daily route was checked
  • Source-stated minimum: 6 moves.
  • Our independent shortest-path search over the observed source word list: 6 moves.
  • Published route: 6 moves. Every adjacent pair changes exactly one letter; 1 word(s) in this official route are outside our licensed practice list, as disclosed above.

The route length matches the independently checked source minimum. This verifies this puzzle and this route at the stated check time; it does not make our full practice dictionary identical to the source dictionary.

If a source check fails, we keep the previous verified puzzle with its original date. We do not change its date to make it look current.

A LITTLE HELP

Quick answers before you read

Short answers to the questions readers ask first.

Is this the official daily answer?

It is our independently checked answer. We compare it with the official source when a verified source route is available, show the source date in UTC, and disclose any official words outside our practice list. This site is not the official game.

I am on a different word. Can I still get help?

Yes. Use the Change word / choose a puzzle selector at the top of the answer card, or open the solver with your current word.

Why can the practice collection show a different route?

Practice rounds use this site’s licensed word list and independently computed routes. The official game may accept a different dictionary, so always match the puzzle number and starting word first.

Where are older answers?

See the Poople archive below for reviewed past starts and routes, or use the Next puzzle control above.

Can I keep playing after today’s puzzle?

Yes. Open Poople Unlimited for 1,500 practice starts, with no daily wait and no account.

Is Poople Unlimited free?

Yes. Unlimited practice is free, needs no account, and saves progress in this browser.

Can I jump to older puzzles?

Use the Next puzzle control above the route. It goes from #443 to #442, then #441, in official puzzle order.

Why does the date say UTC?

We follow the source schedule in UTC so the puzzle number and start word stay consistent. Your local calendar date can differ.

How do I check a word?

Use the Quick word check on the left, or open the solver to check a full route from your current word.

Is there only one shortest route?

No. The displayed route is one shortest path in the published word list; other valid routes can have the same number of moves.

What if my word is rejected?

A move must be four letters, change exactly one letter, and appear in this site’s word list. Other games may use a different dictionary.

Poople hints and answers for daily and past puzzles

Select a starting word above. The dated daily answer appears first; the selector also lets you open the verified archive. Reveal one bridge word at a time and read which letter changed.

Every step changes one letter. The route and its move count are computed from the same word list used by the game. They show one shortest solution in this dictionary; a different valid shortest solution may also exist.

The dated daily answer is checked against the source. The archive lists prior verified routes; practice collections remain separate.

Looking for today’s Poople answer?

This page includes a dated daily solution, a verified archive, and a separate practice collection. Check the starting word in the official daily game ↗ before comparing any route. The displayed daily route is independently checked against the source; our practice dictionary still differs from its full word list.

You can enter your current word in the Poople solver to explore a route in this site’s word list. If another game rejects a bridge word, its rules take precedence there. A route available here alone is not evidence of an official answer.

Read a solution one move at a time

COOK → COOP changes K to P in position four. COOP → POOP then changes C to P in position one. A coop is an enclosure for poultry; it works as a bridge because it differs by one letter from both words.

Count the arrows, not the words: this route takes two moves. Matching more letters of POOP immediately is not always the best choice. Sometimes a useful bridge temporarily changes a letter away from the target.

Play the main practice puzzle or choose another Unlimited round.

Poople hints: when to use them

Hints are for unblocking a route, not for skipping the puzzle. Start with the weakest level, then ask for more only if the ladder is still stuck.

  • Position hint: names the letter position to change without naming the next word.
  • Next word: reveals one bridge word that keeps a shortest continuation available.
  • Full route: shows the whole checked path so you can compare your attempt.

Hints differ from the answer: a hint responds to your current word and can change as you move, while the answer page keeps the dated checked route. Use the Poople solver to test a different starting word.

How to use this Poople answer page

  1. Find the puzzle number, date and starting word in the latest answer section.
  2. Try the ladder before revealing anything, then compare your move count with the stated minimum.
  3. Open one hint at a time and note which letter changed in each move.
  4. Reveal the full route only when you want to check or compare your attempt.

Answer accuracy and word-list limits

This site accepts 2,347 four-letter words and offers 1,500 practice starts. The dictionary version is scowl-2020.12.07-practice-84c372d0e87a. Every displayed move is checked against that version. These practice rounds use the same versioned word list throughout.

Different games accept different words. A route that works here may be rejected elsewhere. A word outside this list is not automatically incorrect English. Read the word-list sources and limits, or report a questionable word or route.

Method, word-list information and examples checked . This is a content review date, not an official daily-puzzle update.

My route is different. Is it wrong?

Not necessarily. Check that every move is legal and compare the total move count. There may be several equally short routes.

Can I get a hint from the word I reached?

Yes. Enter that word as the start in the solver. It searches from your current position instead of repeating an earlier opening.

Previous verified answers

For older searches, here are the two most recently archived verified answers; no separate archive page is created for each.

#442 · 2026-10-30 · FUSS → POOP · 6 moves: FUSS → MUSS → MOSS → MOOS → BOOS → BOOP → POOP. This route is checked against the observed source word list.

#441 · 2026-10-29 · CART → POOP · 5 moves: CART → CARP → CAMP → COMP → COOP → POOP. This route is checked against the observed source word list.

Older answers are listed in the Poople archive section below; they are not separate live pages. Need another starting word now? Open Poople Unlimited practice or put your current word into the Poople solver.

Match the puzzle before reading a solution

Check the starting word and target before comparing any answer. A path for another start can contain valid words and still be irrelevant to your puzzle. The selected practice item is identified by its displayed start, target and sample label. Those labels describe this collection; they are not official daily puzzle numbers.

A date in a website article is not enough to identify a word ladder. The game may change at a different local time, and an old page can remain accessible after a new puzzle begins. When using the official game, rely on the puzzle it actually shows. This site does not assign today's date to a sample or infer the official answer from a competitor's page title.

Once you have matched the start and target, compare the dictionary scope. This site's word list is published separately from the original game's accepted words. That distinction can explain why a perfectly valid route here contains a bridge that another game rejects. Check the word in the game where you intend to play it rather than treating a familiar-looking answer page as a guarantee.

Reveal a bridge without losing the rest of the puzzle

The answer panel starts with intermediate words hidden. The start and destination remain visible, so you can keep the task in view while deciding whether to reveal anything. “Next step” reveals one bridge in the displayed route. It does not automatically finish your separate game board or submit that word to another website.

After revealing a bridge, compare it with the word immediately before it. Locate the changed position, then try to find the following move yourself. If you have already followed a different branch, a sample bridge may no longer be a one-letter move from your current word. In that case, use the solver with your current word as its start instead of trying to insert the sample route in the middle of your own ladder.

“Show full route” removes the remaining mystery for that selected sample. Use it when you want a complete comparison. The move explanation identifies the changed letter at each step; reading those changes can show where two routes make different decisions even when their final lengths match.

Changing the selected practice puzzle changes the answer being explained. Before copying a route, check the selected starting word once more. A screenshot that omits the start or target makes a correction request much harder to reproduce.

Check a complete answer in four passes

  1. Check the endpoints. The first word must be the intended start and the last word must be the target.
  2. Check the vocabulary. Every word, including both endpoints, must belong to the dictionary used for the claim.
  3. Check adjacent pairs. Each pair changes exactly one letter in the same four positions.
  4. Count moves and compare the minimum. A path with five words has four moves; a legal path can still be longer than the shortest one.

These checks answer different questions. Reaching POOP proves the endpoint, but does not prove that all earlier moves were legal. Finding familiar words does not prove that only one position changed. Passing every move check establishes a valid route, but a minimum-length claim needs a search over the accepted word list.

The route checker helps with vocabulary and step checks. Keep the original route when reporting a problem so the first invalid pair can be identified. Rewriting the route from memory can accidentally remove the very step that needs checking.

Understand a different correct answer

Shortest routes need not be unique. Two paths can diverge at the first bridge, meet again later, and finish in the same number of moves. A suggested path is one example, not an instruction that every player must follow. Compare validity and total length before concluding that one answer contradicts another.

A longer path can also be a reasonable personal choice when its words are more familiar. The familiar-word option in the solver explicitly restricts bridges and may increase the minimum. Compare routes within the same selected mode; otherwise the word “shortest” is being used for two different sets of possible moves.

If you find an error in a displayed sample, send its starting word, the full route, the suspect pair and the dictionary version shown on the page. For a discrepancy with the official game, include what that game accepted or rejected and when you observed it. Please avoid sending account details. You can report the issue and continue with a different practice puzzle while the report is reviewed.

Poople archive: past answers and starts

This page keeps a compact, partial Poople archive of verified past starts. It includes the latest verified examples #442–#441 from the daily archive, plus 33 reviewed practice starts in the range #435–#400; it is not the complete 1–442 history. The date column is an archive convenience derived from the source schedule; the original game may change at a different local time. Use the start and route as a study aid, not as a claim that another game uses the same dictionary.

Each row shows the original puzzle number, the starting word, the best move count in our word list, and one independently computed shortest route. The route is not copied from a competitor page: it is checked against this site’s licensed practice dictionary. A different valid route may exist, and the original game’s minimum can differ because its accepted words are different.

To play any of these starts again, open Poople Unlimited practice. For the dated current puzzle, return to the answer at the top of this page. #428, #421, #412 are omitted because their starting words are outside this dictionary.

The archive is intentionally a single page. It does not create a thin page for every puzzle number, and it does not promise a complete backfill. If you need a specific historical route, start with its original number in the table above and verify the starting word before using the route. Routes from different dictionaries can look equally legal and still disagree at a bridge word.
